Historical Thinking Matters
I have included this site even though it is not for all area of the curriculum. It is social studies based but includes aspects of English and Science. Students complete work on a task, do research, and send their finished work to the teacher via e-mail directly from the site. (No need for a student to use an e-mail account.) I am hopeful that this site will expand to include other subject matter areas. It is FREE and very powerful. (The introductory video will not play within the constraints of our network. The tech department is working on a fix. http://historicalthinkingmatters.org/ *** UPDATE*** the video should now play at school. Thanks- Tech folks. ****

Filesanywhere
I am very impressed with this site. There are various versions available. The FREE version is quite impressive. After creating an account you can upload files (25MB max. per file), share groups or individual files by e-mail, create a dropbox for students to post document for your viewing. Student do not need to have an account to upload to your drop box or to view your shared documents. So easy to use. The great news is that with so many upload not working at school - this one works. Here is the link: http://www.filesanywhere.com/
*****UPDATE**** For those of you using an I-Phone, Filesanywhere as announced a I-Phone App so you can view your files on your phone.

8 Wonders of the Solar System
Artist Ron Miller takes us on a journey to eight of the most
breathtaking views that await explorers of our solar system.
The scale of these natural wonders dwarfs anything Earth has to offer.
What might we see and feel if we could travel to these distant domains?
By interpreting data from probes such as NASA's Cassini, which is now
exploring the Saturnian system, and MESSENGER, which goes into orbit
around Mercury in March 2011, the artist's eye allows us an early visit
to these unforgettable locales. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=8-wonders
